Wildflower Honey Raw • Local • Unheated • Lightly Strained
Our raw honey is harvested from our own chemical-free apiaries in Southern Indiana, where our honey bees forage on a diverse variety of wildflowers, trees, and native plants throughout the season. Every jar is lightly strained to remove large pieces of wax and debris while preserving the naturally occurring pollen, enzymes, antioxidants, and other beneficial compounds that make raw honey unique.
Unlike many commercially processed honeys, our honey is never heated, pasteurized, ultra-filtered, or blended. Most importantly, our bees are never fed sugar water. They produce honey from the nectar they naturally collect, and we believe that honey belongs to the bees first. We harvest only the surplus after the colony has stored enough of its own honey for the seasons ahead.
The flavor and color of each harvest naturally varies depending on the flowers blooming throughout the year, making every batch a true reflection of Southern Indiana's landscape.
Traditional Uses
Honey has been treasured for thousands of years by cultures around the world as both a wholesome food and a valued natural product. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and many Indigenous peoples incorporated honey into their diets and traditional wellness practices, appreciating its unique flavor and remarkable ability to keep naturally for long periods of time.
Traditionally, raw honey has been enjoyed as a natural sweetener in teas, coffee, baked goods, sauces, and countless family recipes. It has also been used in homemade herbal preparations, infused syrups, and other traditional kitchen staples.
Beyond the kitchen, raw honey has long been incorporated into homemade soaps, facial masks, salves, and other natural skincare preparations, making it one of the most versatile gifts produced by the honey bee.
These traditional uses are based on historical practices and are provided for educational purposes.

Storage
Store tightly sealed at room temperature. Crystallization is a natural characteristic of raw honey and is a sign that your honey has remained raw and minimally processed. To return honey to a liquid state, place the jar in warm (not boiling) water until it reaches your desired consistency. Avoid microwaving, as excessive heat may reduce the activity of naturally occurring enzymes and other beneficial compounds.
Why Choose Hi Vibe Honey Bees & Apothecary?
We care for our bees using sustainable, chemical-free beekeeping practices and believe in letting bees be bees. Our colonies are never fed sugar water, allowing them to produce honey naturally from the nectar they gather. We harvest only the excess honey after ensuring our colonies have enough of their own stores, and every jar is bottled in small batches with minimal processing so you can enjoy honey just as the bees made it.
Disclaimer
Honey should not be given to infants under one year of age. Individuals with bee or pollen allergies should use caution. Color, flavor, and crystallization will naturally vary from batch to batch due to seasonal nectar sources.
